The son of a draughtsman, I learnt to draw at an early age. As the house was full of blueprints, I taught myself to draw complex shapes by breaking them down into component parts.
As a result of my interest in art, I attended Macclesfield & Mid Cheshire College and the Surrey Institute of Art & Design.
The training gave me the time and space to throw paint about, enabling me to work in an expressive way, a development from my early more draughtsman-like style.
My inspiration for my artwork comes from animals, the light and the outdoors and I hope this is reflected in my work.
